About Xeus

Vincent Xeus is an award-winning artist whose work explores identity, autonomy, and cultural memory in a world shaped by the paradoxes of globalization. His prowess to articulate dichotomies has established him as a transformative figure in contemporary art. By merging abstraction with figuration, Xeus reflects the dualities of human experience—between self and society, memory and transformation, tradition and reinvention. This collision of styles becomes a metaphor for the fragmented nature of identity.

A key element of Xeus’s practice is the recontextualization of historical forms, connecting the past with the present and questioning the fixedness of history. His fusion of Eastern and Western artistic philosophies reflects his Asian American identity and the porous nature of cultural boundaries. His paintings explore the tension between individual agency and larger cultural forces, inviting viewers to reflect on how experiences are shaped by collective memory and trauma. Xeus’s works suggest that history, identity, and art are constantly evolving through negotiation and reinvention.

Xeus’s prodigious output has earned him international acclaim, with his work exhibited in renowned museums, public and private collections worldwide. His legacy, rooted in technical mastery and philosophical inquiry, ensures his influence will resonate across generations.

As a multidisciplinary artist, Xeus extends his practice into spatial arts, where his architectural background enables him to integrate art, culture, and design into immersive environments. His projects in California and Asia explore the relationship between the self, the world, and the continuity of time. His role as Chief Designer & Artistic Director for AB InBev Budweiser’s first global experiential center in Shenzhen exemplifies this vision, where art becomes a lived experience that reshapes how we engage with the world.

Beyond his artistic practice, Xeus is committed to cultural exchange and public service. He has championed numerous programs, such as the Columbia University Arts Society, and was a speaker at the 2019 Harvard College China Forum. He served as Board Director of the Arts Council Napa Valley and as Arts Commissioner in Napa Valley, continually advocating for the arts.

Xeus holds a high-honors Bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master’s from Columbia University, where he received the Columbia Fellow Award. He resides and creates between Manhattan and Napa Valley, California.
